What Our Church Teaches

What We Believe About the Bible,

We believe that the Bible is the inspired, inerrant Word of God, the supreme authority for man, and that all men will one day be judged according to its precepts. (Psalm 119:89; 2 Timothy 3:16-17; Hebrews 4:12; 2 Peter 1:19-21)

What We Believe About God,
We believe that God exists eternally in three persons-Father, Son, and Holy Spirit-and that these three are one God. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14)
We believe that God is the absolute and sole creator of the universe, and that creation occurred by divine decree, not through any evolutionary process. (Genesis 1:1; Exodus 20:11; John 1:3; Colossians 1:16)

What We Believe About Jesus Christ,
We believe that God, by His sovereign choice and out of His deep love for people, sent Christ into the world to save sinners. (Luke 19:10; John 3:16-17; Romans 5:8; Ephesians 1:3-7)
We believe that Jesus Christ came to earth in the flesh, that He was born of a virgin, that He was both God and man. We believe that He lived a sinless life in which He taught and performed mighty works and wonders exactly as revealed in the four Gospels. We believe that He was crucified, that He died as a penalty for the sins of mankind, and that He was physically raised from the dead on the third day. We believe that He ascended back to heaven, where He is the head of the church and intercedes for believers. We believe that He is coming to earth again in bodily form to set up His kingdom. (Matthew 1:18-25; John 1:1-14; Acts 1:9-11; 1 Corinthians 15:3-4; Hebrews 4:15; Revelation 19:11-20:6)

What We Believe About the Salvation,
We believe that salvation-with its forgiveness of sins, its impartation of a new nature, and its assurance of eternal life-is entirely apart from good works, baptism, church membership, or any other human effort, and is strictly by grace-the undeserved favor of God. We believe that since the Lord Jesus Christ made a perfect atonement for sin when He died on the cross, individuals are saved and declared righteous by God on the grounds of repentance and faith in Jesus' death on the cross. (Luke 13:3,5; Romans 3:21-4:8; Ephesians 2:8-9; Titus 3:4-7; Hebrews 9:14)

What We Believe About the Security of the Believer,
We believe that a true believer is eternally secure and cannot lose salvation, but that sin may interrupt the joy of his fellowship with God and bring the loving discipline of his Heavenly Father. (John 10:28-29; Romans 8:1; Hebrews 12:5-11; 1 Peter 1:3-5; 1 John 1:5-10)

What We Believe All Have That Receive Christ,
We believe that all who receive Christ become joint-heirs with Him; at death, their spirits depart to be with Christ in conscious blessedness; at the rapture their bodies will be raised in the likeness of His glorified body, and they will dwell forever with Him. (Luke 23:43; Romans 8:16-17; 2 Corinthians 5:6-8; 1 Thessalonians 4:13-18)

What We Believe About the Duty of Every Believer,
We believe that it is the goal of every Christian to grow in spiritual maturity through obedience to the Word of God and the indwelling Holy Spirit. (John 14:21; Galatians 5:16-26; 2 Peter 1:5-8; 3:18; 1 John 3:22)

What We Believe About the Holy Spirit,
We believe that the Holy Spirit is a person, is fully God, and possesses all the divine attributes. We believe that He baptizes and seals all believers at the moment of salvation, indwells all believers, and fills them in response to their confession of sin and submission to Him. (Genesis 1:2; John 14:16-17, 26; 1 Corinthians 12:13; Ephesians 1:13-14; 5:18)
